Goals and Accomplishments for Friday, June 7.


I wrote a draft of my health essay about how I couldn't walk for 3 weeks in 2015.  I even sent it to a friend of mine who I sometimes share writing with and she wrote me her own harrowing health accounts.   I still need to create scenes with dialogue and develop characters for it to have much meaning to someone besides myself or close friends.

Goal and Accomplishment for Wednesday, June 5.


I finally finished revising the ms. submitted it and the revision letter; the editors wrote back right away thanking us. They said they looked it over and sent it to the same two reviewers.  We'll get feedback at the end of the summer although I hope it's before.


We received feedback from IRB on a proposal for our next research project for this summer, and I started answering their queries.


Goals and Accomplishments for Thursday, June 6.


I sent to another couple of magazines a travel essay that I had submitted last year to a journal that I have never heard back from.  It's not the best essay I've ever written, but it's not bad.


My dissertation student is defending today, so I spent some time reviewing her ppt slides for her presentation and reviewing the questions I had for her and anticipating what the defense might be like with two other members of the committee.

Accomplishment for Tuesday, June 4:


1) Went over the article again to trouble shoot it and try to cut some more. Sent two queries to my partners, one about response rate to the survey and one about spacing.


2) Looked at my dissertation student's ppt for her defense and gave her feedback.  She's defending on Thursday.


3) Start writing about health.  I set the stage for my serious arthritis flare up in 2015.

Goals for Monday, June 3


My wonderful research partners read the article and included their feedback and it's on one document!  I will look over the feedback and implement the changes today and then probably rehearse my presentation for 12:30. Those should be enough goals for today.


I don't think I'll send the article until tomorrow or the next day to give me time to read it over a couple of times when I'm fresh.
